Rooted in the teaching of William Cheung & Didier Beddar

The art of the centre, of listening and the right gesture.

A Chinese boxing art designed for everyone: no strength, no showmanship — a mechanics of the body and a reading of the opponent. Passed on in Bordeaux by Sifu Josse Delaune, a former disciple of Sifu Didier Beddar.

I.Wing Chun

A Chinese boxing art born of a woman, handed down for three centuries.

Wing Chun (詠春) — « boxing of the radiant spring » — is a compact, precise and deeply relaxed Chinese martial art. It favours angle, timing and economy over strength.

You do not come here to become stronger.
You come here to become more precise.

01
Yīn Yáng 陰陽
Working with the opponent's force rather than opposing it. Economy of movement, reading imbalance.
02
Centre line 中線
Occupying and defending the shortest axis between two bodies. Every attack springs from this line.
03
Sensitivity 聽勁
Chi Sao: developing an active touch. The hand feels before the eye sees.
04
Structure
A skeletal alignment that transmits intent from the ground to the body's extremities. Strength without tension, relaxation without slackness.

Wing Chun has neither quick grades nor spectacular demonstrations. It is learned slowly, in pairs, in a quiet room. Progress is measured by the quality of contact, the stability of the hips, and how quickly one accepts pressure without tensing up.

The traditional school rests on three empty-hand forms — Shil Lim Tao, Chum Kil, Bil Jee —, work on the wooden dummy (Muk Yan Jong) and the weapons (long pole and butterfly swords). Every class blends technique, free application (Chi Sao) and conditioning.

In Bordeaux, the academy stays faithful to the teaching of Sifu Didier Beddar. Attention to detail, precision of movement, rigour without dogma.

VII.Before you begin

The questions we're asked most.

A question that isn't listed here? Write to us — we always reply.

No. Wing Chun is practised without force: the mechanics are based on alignment, not on raw power, so age and fitness are not required. The first weeks are devoted to the fundamentals, at your own pace. Fitness comes with practice.

Yes — a free trial class (arrive 10 minutes before the start, except the advanced class on tuesday 19h30 — 21h). If you want more, the adult discovery package gives you 2 full weeks for €60, deducted from your annual membership if you stay.

Loose clothing is enough for the trial class. On enrolment, the academy's full uniform (trousers, belt, t-shirt) is provided and required — it is the first sign of belonging to the school.

Yes, you can pay in instalments through online payment (3, 6 or 9 instalments).

Yes. Enrolment runs from date to date: if you sign up on 11 December, your membership runs until the following 10 December.

Teen classes from age 13 (wednesday 17h30 — 19h and saturday 10h30 — 12h) and adult classes from age 16. Level groups are formed during the class so everyone progresses at their own pace.
